Minister David
Reaves
Rev.
David L. Reaves was born in Greensboro, NC on December
31st, 1982 to Mr. and Ms. Lawrence A. Reaves. Rev Reaves
was the last of three boys born, the first and second
being Lawrence A. Reaves III and Thomas E. Reaves. Rev.
Reaves is the loving husband of Sis. Tammica Reaves as
of September 22nd 2007. Rev. Reaves gave his life to the
Lord at the age of 16 and soon graduated James B. Dudley
High School. In the summer of 2001 he departed for
Lawton, Oklahoma, where he would begin his early career
in the United States Army. After training he was later
assigned to Fort Lewis, Washington more than 3,000 miles
away from his hometown. While here in Washington, Rev.
Reaves joined Shiloh Baptist Church under the guidance
and leadership of Rev. Dr. Gregory Christopher. After
accepting his calling he received his immediate
Ministerial training at Shiloh Baptist Church of Tacoma,
WA. In 2004 he transitioned to the Eastside Baptist
Church where he had the awesome opportunity of taking
over as Youth Minister and Youth Outreach worker in the
local Tacoma community. He served faithfully for 2 ½
years under the guidance and direction of the Rev. Dr.
Arthur C. Banks until he felt an urgency for him and his
newly married wife to relocate to New Beginnings
Christian Fellowship in Renton, Washington as the
Children and Youth Pastor. Rev. Reaves continues to
undergo growth and mentorship from his current pastor
and mentor the Rev. Dr. Leslie D. Braxton. Rev. David
Reaves holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion from
Faith Evangelical Seminary and is in the process of
completing a Masters of Divinity. As a young man Rev.
Reaves is known for his diligence, persistence,
reliability, and honesty. He is a member of the Tacoma
Urban League, National Action Network, Tacoma NAACP,
Tacoma Black Collective, and various other social and
civil rights organizations. Rev. Reaves is a unique
young man that continues to make a name for him self as
he preaches, teaches, motivates, and trains those who
have a heart for people, but more specifically; young
people.
